Sea Anemone

Watery Wednesday

I haven't posted in my blog in a long time, so I thought I should go ahead and post something. =) I took this picture at a beach we went to this summer. The sea anemone wasn't covered by much water because the tide was low, so it was pretty easy to take a good picture with the camera I was using.

This is kinda an old pic, from last spring. I've been wanting to participate in Macro Monday for awhile, but I keep forgetting about it! I finally remembered. =D

Gift Shop Reflections

A few months ago we visited a national forest on Mount St. Helens. We took some great pictures, of flowers and trees, cliffs and peaks, the view, etc. but the ones I'm posting right now were taken at a gift shop at the foot of the mountain. =) I think they're pretty cool.

Skywatch Friday
We went to the Puyallup Fair on Wednesday. We had a great time!! =) The photo above was taken by me, while standing in line waiting for our dizzy passes (fun,fun,fun!).

Glowing Heart

We went to the Puyallup Fair yesterday, which was really fun! (I'll share more pictures later.) =)

A Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department stand at the fair used a black light to demonstrate the importance of thoroughly washing hands. They offered us lotion to represent germs to put on our hands to make them glow under the black light. Then we tried to wash the lotion off with water and soap and re-checked under the black light to see if we had gotten all the lotion off our hands. While checking my hands I noticed the socks I was wearing were glowing as well! I remembered they had a heart on them, so I snapped a picture for Guest Heart Thursday. lol =)

Macro Flower Saturday

These flowers were growing near an exhibit at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. I snapped a quick picture of them before we went to look at another exhibit. I didn't get a good look at them though, so I don't know what kind of plant it is. They're pretty, aren't they, though? =)

My grandparents got this windchime for our mom when they went to South America. It's in our kitchen window. You can also see the reflection of the mugs on the mug rack we have hanging on the wall near the window (oooh, and the curtains, too!). =)

It had recently rained when I took this picture, and some raindrops had gotten caught in a spiders web. =)

Rainbows!

Earlier this year (spring!) we were driving through Point Defiance Park when we saw this rainbow (if you look closely, you can also see a very light second rainbow)! So of course we stopped the car to snap a few pictures. I took the first photo through the window, then I went outside and snapped the picture below. =)

Weekend Reflections

There are two reflections in this photo. The camera reflected on the window, and the sun reflecting on the water (and cars). I snapped it real quick while we were driving through Tacoma. The camera focused on the window instead of the water, but I think it turned out kind of cool. =)

Flower Heart

This photo is for Guest Heart Thursday. =) I took it at Lowe's plant nursery. I try to remember to bring a camera with me everywhere, because you never know where or when a great photo will turn up.

Silver Camera's Watery Death.

The picture above is, sadly, the last picture I ever took with my mom's old camera (which she let me use), right before I dropped it in the water. *kerplunk* I was able to save the memory card, but the camera wasn't so lucky. *moment of silence* . . . . . . why'd the last picture have to be of my FEET?!!

That was a few weeks ago, at Saltar's Point Beach. The sky was really pretty that day, with a warm glow that made everything look golden (we later learned it was because of wild fires in British Columbia). My family and I had a great time looking for sea glass, walking around in the water, watching for trains, and just enjoying the view. =)


Besides murdering the camera, it was an awesome day.

Hello. . . agian!

Okay. I just looked at my previous post (and only post, currently), which is from june '09. It says "I hope to write in here often." Have I? NO! It's not exactly my fault. I couldn't remember my password. . . and was to lazy to get around to retrieving it. But I plan on writing in here more than once a year from now on.
Anyway, this blog will be about life on Windchime Hill. That's what I named where we live (though it's also known as Blackberry Hill, too). I have three siblings, a mom and a dad, and lots of cats. We're homeschooled / unschooled. So this should be interesting. =)

This is all I can think of to post right now. . . but I'm sure I'll be able to think of something soon.
